Boomer Update

Boomer likes to lay out on the front lawn and watch all the birds and cars go by. This morning he is pretty much back to his normal self.

Keith was kind enough to take his temperature for me last night while I was at work. I called the vet and they said if he didn't have a temp over 102, probably no need for alarm. She knows Boomer's history and the running he puts in. His temp was 100.1 so we just let him rest. Last night he met me at my car as I pulled in the garage which is always great! He is eating, drinking normal. Today no limping. I actually slept in because I didn't figure I would need to walk him before I go to work.

I think he would have enjoyed a walk but I will walk him this evening.

Thank you everyone for your nice comments and concern about my little boy. Just like us human runners, sometimes we pull a muscle, he can too. It's not the first time. He runs like a maniac all over the trails and mountains.

Until later.............

you could try a homeopathic remedy called "arnica" for him. helps w/ pain and swelling. also, do you give him any vitamins? he should probably be on fish oil at the very least. my dogs get piles of vitamins.

Maybe it is time for him to start taking supplements. I will look into that, thank you! ;)

I'm so happy! You know - race horses get a cold hose on their legs after a hard run, people take ice baths after a hard run, he might not like it but maybe Boomer needs a cold hose on his legs after a run??? Just a thought.

OH, and glucosamine for the hounds, we give it to both. I'll send you the exact one when I get home.

I you used to break into a fever and have the chills at night whenever I broke 15-miles in training. Glad the little guy is better.

I am horridly behind, so I missed the "Boomer isn't feeling well" post! I am so glad the little guy is back to normal.

We had to cut Lucy's hiking back when she turned 10 because she does not know when to say when! (I know, Boomer is much younger. I was just reflecting on when my girl was as active as your handsome boy!)

Glad he will be hitting the trails again soon! Email me about running on Mother's Day (I thought I had your email, but I don't). I would LOVE TO!

I am still trying to figure out my Mother's Day plan. My Mom keeps blowing me off! Sheesh! Once you graduate from college, those damn parents never call and they never write! ;o)

Give Boomer a big hug and kiss from us!!!
