Before I forget.......

Sunday morning I went to the Iron Horse Trail in Danville for Aron's blogger meet-up. She had invited a bunch of local girls that have blogs about running. Actually, one of the girls doesn't have a blog but she says she faithfully stalks each of us. I knew a handful of the girls when I got there, but by the end of the run and coffee afterwards, I had been able to chat with all of them. We all gathered at Peet's and we talked about "everything running" while Boomer walked around and charmed each of them. Everybody was running different distances. Some ran five, some eight, and a few were running 12 - their last long run before next weekend's marathon. I didn't have my Garmin but the trail was marked very well (every 1/4 mile). Boomer and I ended up running mostly by ourselves - we took our time, I let him check out every pipe he saw. I bought a ham and cheese croissant for him at Peet's because he was such a good dog on the 6.5 mile run where he had to be leashed!

This picture is for Ron @ Punk Rock Tri Guy. He sent me this beautiful pink Punk Rock Racing tech top in the mail and I promised him I would wear it to the blogger meet-up in Danville. Thanks Ron, you really do ROCK!

Keith had a small job on Monday so after he came home I talked him into going for a hike. He was very interested in seeing the Bald Eagle's nest I saw last week on Calaveras Road. He brought his telescope and this is the best picture we could get. Keith had never seen a Bald Eagle in the wild so he was pretty excited to see this. The nest is SO BIG. There's literally branches in that thing, not twigs! We watched for a while but never saw a baby pop up. Maybe next time.

We decided to hike to Flag Hill this time. It climbs up over 1200 feet in 1.30 miles. We were heading up there:

It would be nice if Boomer would learn to look at the camera instead of us, right before it snaps a photo! Whatever!

Almost to the top now.

There's the top. We made it!

It was a nice way to spend the afternoon before the storm came in that night.
I have a run planned tomorrow afternoon with Christy which I'm looking forward to. I didn't get to hook up with her last week so we should have plenty to talk about. This weekend I have a group ride planned for Saturday morning and a trail run with Lori on Sunday. Whoot!! Oh, and hopefully another ride on Monday with the bony-assed boys from work.
"MED2010" Accountability:
04/18 - 6.5 mile run
04/19 - "Step 'n' Sculpt" class, 3.5 hike
04/20 - 1.5 mile walk, "24SET" class

Until later.............

Boomer has a good life: ham and cheese croissant and pipe checking.
Those lupines at the top are just beautiful.
Have a wonderful week.

The hike looks awesome!

My puppy does the last minute look away for photos all the time too. Always at the very last second!

Glad you like the tech shirt.

This running community is amazing. Because of running, I know 5 of the people in the group photo and I have been lucky enough to have run with some of them.

Iron Horse is on of my favorite running spots too.

All the best,

Ron

Love the pics! The eagle's nest is very cool.

If I wasn't going to be in my bike skills clinic I'd meet up with you Sat for the group ride! Maybe next time. :)

It was really fun to meet you last weekend!

I had to laugh at your comment about Boomer looking at the camera. Every single time I try to take pictures of my dogs they look away.

Looks like a beautiful hike!

What a great meet up! I am envious of the bloggers who live near-ish to other bloggers. I live in the boonies but someday.

Boomer is the best dog! What a great running partner.
Oh, love the pink shirt and hat.

I love the last two pictures. I'm a sucker for wildflowers of any kind, but lupines are a favorite.
