I had to go to work earlier than I thought yesterday so I didn't get a swim or a hike in before work. I ended up going over to the Alameda Creek Trail and running there and in Quarry Lakes area. Boomer was thrilled!
Okay, tell me how spoiled I am. This is where I go "as a last resort" for a run. These next few pictures will show you the ugliest my run ever gets.
And yes, you read that correctly. I did say "running." My intent was to go for a three mile walk yesterday morning where Boomer could go off leash. My legs felt so loose and they were moving really fast. So, I just picked up my feet to move fast enough to keep up with my legs. I have been reading up on my Chi running and just practiced that method for the next 30 minutes. I slowed back down to a walk every now and then but overall, I kept my pace easy and my landing very gentle. I was happy to break a sweat again. Yes, I know, I will be very careful and listen to my body and especially my knee. I promise.
Today I golfed with Keith, Christy, and Steve. It has been a very long time since I've joined my husband for his Saturday morning game of golf. He has missed me playing with him and I must say it was a nice way to spend some time together.
We go to Jamaica every fall for a golf tournament so I should try to get some more rounds in between now and then. I have a title I need to defend!
After golf, we came back to Fremont and walked around the Fremont Festival of the Arts, aka Fremont Art & Wine Festival. I found a very cute retro style apron and THIS:
Almost as good as being at a ballpark! If you can't see, it's funnel cake with powdered sugar, strawberries and whipped cream. Mmmm huh. Delicious.
This past week was a pretty good one, exercise-wise, considering the ankle AND the knee:
Two days of swimming
Two days of Pilates
One 8.75 mile hike
One 2.75 mile run
One round of golf
Six 2 mile walks with Boomer
I'm getting up early tomorrow so I can get a mile swim in before work. After work, I'm having dinner with Theresa. Life can go on and connections can continue. You all were right.
Until later.............

Guess what? You ended up supporting OLG school (where my kids graduated from grade school) with the purchase of that funnel cake! Hope you enjoyed it, it was made with loving hands :)
Enjoyed golf today. It was my favorite round of golf ever.
yay! chi running! funnel cake! great exercise week! happy face! beautiful pics!
it's all good... :-)
I have been using Chi Running techniques for a while now and have to say my whole body thanks me. I have always had bad knees, and used to wear a brace on one it was so bad. Since I have been chi running- no need for the brace. I would HIGHLY suggest trying to keep up with that if you can, (on trails for sure) and see how that is for you. I totally forgot about that option! I am so happy to hear you were able to run :)
Woohoo! Those look like some great totals and such a nice balance. The change up is good and golfing with hubs, perrrrfect.
Right on!
Glad to know the Chi running is working!
I have no clue where anything is where you live. How close to Fremont are you?
