The dogs barked as I snapped the photo above, so he flew on top of the roof. I can honestly say I've never seen a Peacock fly. Quite a scene. It doesn't really look natural.
Garin was the place my step-daughter, Loren and I went this morning. It is getting more and more gorgeous every time I go there. It's looking a lot like fall already. Oooh, I do love fall!
After four miles on the trails, I went to the pool and swam 2200 yards. That's two days in a row, folks! 72 laps yesterday, 88 today. And, I think I'm going to do it again tomorrow. I'm surprised (and happy) about how much I'm enjoying the swimming. I use earplugs in both ears now and that makes a huge difference. Today I was splitting a lane with one guy for half the time and then I had the entire lane to myself. Yesterday I had to share a lane with FIVE other people. That sucked!
I saw Floyd this afternoon. He didn't torture me too much. He MAY be back in good with me. We tossed a basketball back and forth while I balanced on one foot on top of a box. Tricky! He kept throwing it just out of my direct reach so I had to bend to catch it, and stay balanced. No worries, I didn't miss once! My range of motion is almost perfect. My ankle is not as stiff as it felt last week. Basically, the ankle is getting better. Yes, I know. Floyd's torture must be helping.
Until later.............

In a weird way, I'm starting to like the pain. Glad your recovery is going well. You are motivating me to start cross training!
That peacock is waaaay cool..
Isn't it great how PT torture somehow becomes a good thing?
Now about that bike...
wild peacock? or did it have a tag on it. in any event, quite cool.
I usually see peacocks out in the countryside - Palomares Canyon road has a bunch that people keep as pets. They are noisy in groups.
Very cool! I once came across a pheasant in the wild but that was when we lived in NJ...
Your swimming sounds awesome. I am envious (and too chicken about swimming to be inspired to try).
Sounds like your ankle is coming around nicely. I am running more and more without my ankle brace and finding that it really is much stronger now than in years past. I still wear the brace on gnarly rocky trails, but on streets and trails around town it seems ok. Yours will be stronger eventually too, but please do whatever you can to keep it safe while it continues healing. (I sound like a worrying mom don't I?).

i agree that sharing a lane with 5 people sucks, *but* it does gives you practice for triathlons where the swim is crowded.
funny that we both need to get moving on the bike. it's a bit more urgent for me. race day in 4 weeks. yikes!
The lanes are wide open in the ocean, LOL!
really research your bike. take it from me. you want to do it right the 1st time.
A Peacock, how funny!! One of my Dad's old co-worker had Peacock's as pets...she came into work one day and was really sad because one was missing. Apparently they fly away often and would eventually be found on neighbors roofs..
Good work on the running and swimming. I would swim into people if I had to share with 5 people, course I dont swim..
add the bike and you'll be a triathlete superstar in no time! Funny about the peacock.
...and there's always Aquathon as well, swim and run! OR Aquabike, swim and bike. They're gaining in popularity for sure. Lots of race directors are adding them to their tris to attract more peeps.
I lerve my PT guy, hurts but he's sooo cute;) BUT I'm glad I don't have to see him all at the same time.
the peacock is SO COOL!! how awesome to see that :)
