How many is too many?

PICTURES, THAT IS!!!

I just don't have the mental energy to "write" too much tonight but I really want to post photos and activities from the past (nearly) week. So, with few words but lots of pictures, here goes:

If you could, what caption would you put for Boomer here?

On the 17th, I finally got to meet Marci (Ramblings of a Running Addict) from Canada. We met at Pleasanton Ridge in Pleasanton. Here she is on her "first California trail run." It was great to meet her and talk to her but I wish we could have had all day. Unfortunately, we ran out of daylight and our hike/run was shorter than we had hoped. Next time Marci, next time! I took a ton of pictures for her but am posting some and sending all of them to her to do what she wants with them.

The next day, I ran with Christy at Don Edward's Regional Park. I've run at Coyote Hills plenty of times but this park is on the other side of Hwy 84. It was nice to see some new trails, hard to believe I've never ran over there. It was very hot that day (82 degrees) so we only ran 3 miles. It was a great run and provided the sweat I needed. Dogs have to be on leash so I actually left the boy at home that day. I can't tell you the last time I ran without him.

Today I was in a funk. The further I get into treatment (I go seven days a week), the more I find I am struggling with a lot of feelings. Some days are good and some are not so good. I can't hide (bury) my feelings and "get better" at the same time so I must make myself "feel" the feelings and deal with them in a healthy way. GAH! It's tough for me to do.
I finally decided I needed to get outside so Boomer and I picked up Bella and went for a 4.5 mile run at Garin this afternoon. I MADE myself run up hills I would normally hike up. I'm alive today for a reason and running up a hill isn't going to be what kills me! Seriously, it isn't. It was a beautiful day, the park was packed with people hiking and having picnics. I am definitely not used to seeing so many people there. On a good day, I may see eight people while I'm out there during the week or early mornings.

One final photo that makes me smile and hopefully will leave you laughing. For those that don't know, Bella is my daughter's dog and she is a German Shepherd/Lab mix.
Bella - Lab on the left and Shepherd on the right

"MED2010" Accountability:
03/16 - 1.5 mile walk, "24SET" class at the gym
03/17 - 5.5 mile trail run
03/18 - 3 mile run, 2 mile walk
03/19 - 2 mile walk
03/20 - 2 mile walk
03/21 - 4.5 mile trail run
Thanks for reading, thanks for caring. Your kind comments continue to give me strength. I appreciate all of you. ;)
Until later.............

Beautiful trails. I have not been able to get out on trails lately so at least I can enjoy your photos while turning green with envy.
Cute doggies. Why can't my cats run with me?

I'm not good at "feeling" my feelings either. But, it is necessary. You have to deal with them at some point or another, like it or not.

Nice photos. Glad that getting outdoors is part of the plan.

That last picture is just the perfect balance of beautiful and funny. It reminds me that I need to get out to the trails and enjoy the poppies while they're here!

Not sure about the caption for the first picture, but Boomer is looking rather smug and confident.

How muddy is Pleasanton Ridge? I can remember it being quite a mess on that first climb this time of year.

Love Bella's ears! Boomer is sporting a sexy look...it is like he is saying. "I know I am so hot!"

Great that you have gotten out to enjoy the weather! I know getting some sunshine here in Maryland has certainly boosted my mood! I'm not too good with facing the feelings either....I continually work on that one... Peace to you!

Great photos! You have such wonderful places to run and hike.

Keep up the recovery. Not all feelings are enjoyable but its necessary to go through them.

Hope you're doing well and looking forward to hitting the road with you soon!

Boomer's caption should read "Ok mom, picture time is over, lets hit the trails!!"

Glad to hear you're feeling better. One day at a time!!

Love the pic of Bella. She is too cute! I'm a softie for dogs with big ears, even if it's just one.
